Li Jing is a medium fully grown Labrador/Pitbull mix. Due to her being the runt of the liter she is not as big as the average breeds she is.
“Ape” is her safe word that alerts to provide necessary training on command.
She also has other private commands to help handler.
Li Jing completed her training in 2020 and is a extremely fast learner.
With the help of professional trainers she provides owners assistance with Social Anxiety, Depression, Severe Anxiety, & Panic Attacks.
Li Jing started her training 2019 providing her owner with therapeutic benefits through companionship increasingly recognizing the need for dogs to help her handler with psychiatric disabilities, dedicated specifically to supporting psychiatric assistance.
Training to mitigate a psychiatric disability may include providing environmental assessment, reminding the handler to take medication, guiding the handler from stressful situations, or acting as a brace if the handler becomes dizzy or requires immediate comfort.
As a further matter this dog can be an extremely useful companion in any controlled training concerning cognitive functions, Li Jing is trained to comfort her handler in various locations.
Psychiatric service dogs are also legally required to be accommodated in more places than emotional support animals. While ESAs are only legally required to be accommodated by a housing provider, service dogs must be accepted at just about any place you might need to go, this includes your place of residence, hotels, Airbnbs, a flight with any airline (free of charge), supermarkets, and restaurants.
Psychiatric service dogs must have basic training to behave well around other people and animals, as well as to complete a specific task (or multiple tasks) to aid the owner/handler with symptoms of their disability.
“Li Jing” meaning – gentle, black, & beautiful.
“Ape” is handlers/trainers safe word for Li Jing to immediately respond.
Li Jing sits, lays, rolls over, on command.
She is trained to NOT bark when there are sudden noises like a knock on the door or a unknown person is in her presence or near although she is trained to protect handler if handler(s) are in harms way. She’s had a hearing test and passed, she is just trained to alert handler in other ways instead of barking.
Li Jing is fully potty trained from a very young age. Also trained to not go on furniture unless she’s told she’s allowed.
She is also crate trained although she sleeps in her own bed unless handler wants otherwise. Li Jing is trained to enjoy baths, swimming, grooming, car rides etc.
Also trained to be very affectionate with children, other animals, and eager to please handler/others.
