Couple accused of stealing service dog, SUV from mall parking lot

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Hilo couple is accused of stealing a service dog and a Honda CR-V from the parking lot of a shopping mall, Hawaii County prosecutors said.

The incident happened on Saturday at the Prince Kuhio Plaza parking lot.

Authorities arrested and charged 20-year-old Kuuhauoliakaleinani Giminiz-Brzezowski with two counts of second-degree theft and one count of first-degree theft.

His bail has been set at $9,000.

Jacob is very loyal and protective and he looks out for me when I am not feeling well. I am very much aware of what is happening around him. He is very loving, playful, and spoiled. He knows all of his friends and the dog food store, he walks in and barks letting the people know he is here and he wants treats. The dog food store spoils him and I do too. He never forgets his role as a dog. If I forget something cooking on the stove and he smells smoke or noise he barks to alert me. When he wants to go out If I am sleeping and I do not hear him barking, he will make noise in my ear. When is very good with children and adults. If I had a dollar for every time someone tells me he is cute I would be rich. When we go shopping he is very well behaved unless someone is up to something or bothering me. His favorite place to ride in the car is on the back of my shoulders with his head out the window with the wind blowing in his face. He knows when I am going to do the laundry. When he gets mad with me he will rip paper and he is cute when he begs to go with me. He sands on his back hind legs and flaps his paw round circle in a prayer position very fast. He likes to play tough of war with my nightgown or shirt or anything he can fit in his mouth. He is very smart he can open medicine bottles.

Oona May 4 years old

Oona May is a 4 year old rescued Doberman/Hound Mix. She was in a kill center in Texas when she was a few months old. We were informed that she was rescued and up for adoption. Her foster mom lived in Kansas and we contacted her to adopt. Through volunteers, she was transported to Minnesota where we met up and got her in April 2018.
Oona had developed her own natural instinct to calm me when I would become anxious or upset by licking my face and cuddling. She was trained and currently assists me through my anxiety and PTSD.
Oona will also be available to support children in a school setting while being there for me when I need.
Oona has a rescued brother whom they get along together very well. He is more clingy while she is very independent. She enjoys the outdoors, playing with her toys, and sleeping in. She’s not much of a morning dog.

She loves giving puppy eyes.

She does beg but she’s got the cutest face so we don’t mind. How can you say no to that face. She also gives this face when she wants something, not just food, but to be held, or a good back scratch.

NALA PRECIOUS FRIEND

Nala is a sweet loving animal. She us not a barker dog except when doorbell rings. She is quiet and cuddly. She takes away most of my anxiety by being close.
