Blue Creek Marina Hostess
Sugar Belle and her sister Sassafras, aka “Sassy” both enjoyed living on Lake Mitchell at Blue Creek so much, that they actually became known as “Blue Creek Marina’s Welcoming Committee. Every day during the summer, they were up and out the door at the first sound of a “boat being launched” at the Marina. We actually only lived about 50 feet from the launch and they walked from one side of the pier to the other, stopping at each boat and saying “Good Morning” to all of our “Lake Family & Friends”. they were often invited to go out for a ride which was the “highlight Of their day”. Those were the awesome years, and we have so many memories of wonderful days and wonderful people. Sugar Belle will turn 15 on the 15th of this month, sadly, we lost Sassy about 9 years ago to Antifreeze poisoning, intentionally given to her by my Mom’s neighbor. May she rest in peace.
